Odd, the article mentions only a best “guess,” and not any actual investigating.

I’m skeptical of malicious gunfire in this case because 1) apparently, nothing was hit; 2) I posit that most people don’t have the necessary experience to accurately recognize the sound of incoming gunfire; and 3) the only report of gunfire came from people who were understandably jumpy.
